Wakehurst finished the season with a great 1-0 win against Lurgan Celtic on Saturday and finished off Celtic's hopes of promotion with them needing a win to be in with a chance.

The only goal of the game came in the 13th minute when a tempting cross from the right by Conor Gregg was deflected off Conor McAnallen and past Fox in the Celtic goal to make it 1-0 for Wakehurst..

Celtic's only chance of the first half came with an overhead kick from Mackin but Marc Maybin in the Wakehurst goal gathered easily.

The early part of the second half didnt produce any better chances for the home side and Wakehurst always looked the more threatening with Conor Gregg and Jason Paul giving Celtic a few headaches.

Towards the end of the game Celtic had a couple of half chances but the Wakehurst defence stood firm and Wakehurst deservedly took all three points to finish a very credible eighth in the table bearing in mind they have no home base and every match is an 'away' game.
