On Saturday Wakehurst they drew 1-1 with Ballymoney United at Castledawson.
The first twenty minutes of the match provided little goalmouth action with Wakehurst's first corner coming on 25 minutes. Lee McCaughern's corner found the head of Jordan Kenny but he headed high and wide. Best chance for Ballymoney came on 32 minutes when their no.7 was unlucky to see his shot go wide after a good run down the left. Wakehurst's best chance of the half fell to Connor Warren on 41 minutes but the Ballymoney keeper made a great save from Warren's shot to turn the ball round the post.
Wakehurst started better in the second half and in the first fifteen minutes of the half were awarded two free kicks in quick succession but neither produced any real danger for Ballymoney. Another free kick to Wakehurst on 65 minutes, taken by Ricky Culbertson found Andy Erwin who sent a good cross in to Jason Paul and the keeper was lucky to hold for Ballymoney.
Jordan Kenny should have broken the deadlock on 67 minutes but his terrific drive was turned over the bar by the keeper. When it looked as if the game was heading for a scoreless draw, a cross from the right hand side was rolled into the net by Kearney to gave Ballymoney the advantage with 5 minutes on the clock.
Wakehurst battled on and were rewarded on 89 minutes when Jordan Kenny's cross cum shot went over the head of the Ballymoney keeper and in to the top corner to make it 1-1.
