Wakehurst played their last home match of the season on Saturday and ended it in style with a 1-0 win against PSNI.
It was all Wakehurst in the opening period with Lee McCaughern and Conor Gregg both testing Wilson in the PSNI goal. PSNI's first effort of the half came in the 24th minute with a free kick just outside the area but Arthur's free was well blocked by the Wakehurst wall.
On 42 minutes Conor Gregg had another effort but Wilson made a good save, clearing for a corner. From the resultant corner, Ryan Young had a great header on goal but again Wilson came to the rescue for PSNI. In the last minute of the half Conor Gregg had the ball in the net but the referee ruled it out for handball.
Wakehurst continued the pressure at the start of the second half with both Mark Crawford and Stephen Mellon going close. PSNI's best effort of the second half came on 55 minutes with Robert Knox testing Marc Maybin but he held well.
On 66 minutes Wakehurst finally got the breakthrough when Conor Gregg was upended in the box and he made no mistake from the spot to score his 20th league goal of the season to make it 1-0 to Wakehurst.
On 72 minutes, Steven McIlroy almost made it two but Wilson made a great save with his feet to deny Wakehurst. PSNI threatened on 85 minutes through substitute Hadden but again Maybin saved well in what was the last action of the game.
