Wakehurst returned to league action on Saturday earning a 2-2 draw with Sport and Leisure at Castledawson after a two week break with no matches.  They were missing a number of  senior players through injury giving new signing Ryan Young the opportunity to make his full debut.

Wakehurst were slow to start and were punished on 3 minutes when Darren Gallagher scored for Sport and Leisure to give them the early edge.

Wakehurst came back strongly and on 12 minutes were on level terms when Conor Gregg equalised after good work by Jason Paul.

On 15 minutes, Ryan Young almost got his first goal when he hit the bar with a great header from an inch perfect cross by Conor Gregg.

On 17 minutes, Wakehurst went two up when Lee McCaughern scored from close range to put them ahead for the first time in the game.

The second half started in the same vein as the first with Sport and Leisure taking advantage of a quick free kick on 53 minutes to equalise with Gallagher again being the provider.

On 70 minutes, a good through ball from Conor Gregg put Jason Paul in a goal scoring position but he just couldnt get the vital final touch.

It was Jason Paul again on 75 minutes but the keeper denied him with a great save with his feet.  Wakehurst pressed hard for the winner in the latter part of the half but Sport and Leisure held on to take a share of the points.
